He’s probably best know for his chart-busting hits, but that may not be the case for much longer with Akon. As it’s now been revealed that the Lonely hit-maker has decided to basically build his own version of Wakanda. Yes, the 45-year-old singer and songwriter is legitimately going real-life Black Panther with his new project, a Crypto City. Going all in after starting up his own cryptocurrency the AKoin, he’s decided to build his own city – ‘a real-life Wakanda’ as the currency’s official website states.
Built on 2,000 acres of land gifted to the singer and producer by the President of Senegal, the city will spring up five minutes away from the country’s new international airport, close to Dakar. The city (which is now officially in development) will, according to the AKoin website be ‘the first 100% crypto-based city’, and will plant the AKoin at the ‘the centre of transactional life’. The website states: ‘Akon Crypto City blends leading Smart City planning designs with a blank canvas for cryptonizing our daily human and business exchanges, with the goal of inventing a radical new way of existence.
‘This mixed-use, master-planned city, contains everything from residential to retail, parks, stadium, light manufacturing, universities, and schools.’
